About Us

A group of like-minded people met on the 29th April 2014 at the Berwick Voluntary Centre building in Tweed St. to set up the BERWICK EDUCATIONAL ASSOCIATION. The group planned to offer a full programme of classes and excursions to local people on all kind of subjects ranging from local history and archaeology to geology, art and literature.

After over 30 years of experience with the Workers' Educational Association we are branching out on our own. We now have the freedom to set up the kind of classes, lectures and excursions that local people want to attend and can fit into their busy lives. We are flexible and open to new ideas so if you want to keep learning and enjoy a bit of company, please get in touch. We would also love to hear from local people with experience of delivering education in any field as we are always on the lookout for new subjects to offer.

Award CertificateIn 2016 we were fortunate to be nominated for Organisation Of The Year by the North Northumberland Voluntary Forum. At the awards ceremony on the 7th July we were given the prize of Runner Up. Thank you to everyone involved for all of their hard work.
